RED SEAT APPEAL

FOR RENOVATED THEATRE

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

Dear Friends and Members of the Lisbon Players,

First of all, many thanks to all those involved in the shows (and including our audiences of course) for making last season at Lisbon Players such a fantastic success. Congratulations to all of us!

We’re busy preparing an exciting new programme for 2011-2012 AND doing lots of renovation works during the summer break. This second phase of improvements at Estrela Hall is partly to comply with IGAC’s health and safety regulations but also to make the theatre more attractive and comfortable for our audiences and workers.

Both the ladies’ and gents’ bathrooms have been completely renovated and a new bathroom installed in the dressing rooms for use of the cast, including a hot shower!

The auditorium has been both renovated and redecorated. And those lovely old seats that add such character to our theatre? Well, in response to the request of our supporters who have said “Please don’t get rid of those beautiful seats!” we have decided to restore them. But to do this, WE NEED YOUR HELP.

72 of the 110 seats need to be recovered in fireproof velvet and the woodwork restored. The cost of each seat is €65. The Lisbon Players needs 72 people – or groups of people – who can each donate 65 euros to cover the costs of restoring one seat. A list of contributors will be gratefully acknowledged on behalf of the community.

If you can help contribute to the fund which seeks to MAINTAIN THE UNIQUE CHARACTER OF ESTRELA HALL, please send your donation of €65 (or whatever you can!) by transfer to our bank, BES in Corpo Santo. NIB: 0007 0000 00319098476 23 and an e-mail to lisplayers@gmail.com under the heading Red Seat Appeal telling us about your donation and stating the name(s) you would like to appear on the list of contributors.

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!
