Ibsen's 'A Doll's House', directed by Jon Kvaal
Pederson, played its final night on Sat. 23rd.
to a full house.
A compelling story of lies
and intrigues within a traditional marriage, the play showed the
principal female Nora's development from petted 'doll'..to mature
and independent woman….a unique and daring view for a play of its
time.
All the performances conveyed
the feeling of intense claustrophobia and suppressed passion which
was the convention of the time and contributed to the build-up of
tension which was central to the story.
Celia Bochmann's performance
as Nora was both memorable and compelling. |
